A red van belonging to student Christopher Barajas,18, caught on fire at the Park and Recreations lot on L street today (Sept. 2).

Los Angeles Fire Department firefighters arrived and put out the fire.

Fire was confined to the engine compartment.

Firefighters put out the fire and disconnected the battery explained Fire Captain Steve Guttierez.

Students may have been informed last semester that once their refund preference was registered with Higher One, they would not need to retain their Potsdam Debit Card unless they were utilizing the Higher One checking account. This is not the case; information from the card is necessary for all subsequent communication with Higher One, including resetting one's password on their website.

On Friday August 20 in the early hours of the morning Tim Long president of the Student Government Association (SGA) of Jacksonville State University, was arrested for urinating in the side of the Brothers Bar parking lot. At the time of his arrest, Long was charged with exposure and lewd conduct.

JSU GAMECOCKS UPSET OLE MISS

The Jacksonville State Univeristy Gamecocks defeated Ole Miss in what ESPN is calling the "biggest upset in SEC history". Final score was 49-48, with the Gamecocks winning on a two point conversion in double overtime.

The Gamecocks had no turnovers and only 7 penalties.
